Leverett Village Co-op is a small, rural business that for more than 50 years has provided a source of healthy food, a market for our local producers, jobs for people in our community, and a meeting space in our village. These are just some of the benefits you are directly contributing to when you choose to shop at our little country store. As a co-operative, we rely on our Members to actively participate in sustaining this vibrant community resource.

At the same time, our small co-operative operates in a highly consolidated retail food sector where large corporations enjoy the benefits of scale, monopoly control, and unfair competition. In this economy, selling groceries covers only part of the cost of keeping this vital community institution in operation.

To ensure that we can make healthy, local food as accessible, provide a market for local producers, and maintain employment people in our community, we rely on our Members for additional participation and support.  We invite you to:      

• Become a Member or give a Gift Membership to someone else.

• Become a Sustaining Member by committing to shop at least once a month at the Co-op. At the end of the year, you’ll be entered to win special prizes, like a gift basket of co-op products donated by the Neighboring Food Co-op Association and other partners.      

• Make a Donation to the Co-op or become a Sustaining Donor by making regular monthly donations of any amount to help support our cashflow.

• Join us and Volunteer for our Community Events such as regular Pizza Nights and Annual Harvest Festival. Visit our Calendar or e-mail us for more information.

• Become a Working Member by supporting our operations and receive a discount at the Co-op.

• Consider using the Co-op for your next Meeting Place. Invite your friends, co-workers or neighbors to meet-up in our café or on our beautiful grounds.

• Have an idea for an Event, Fundraiser, or Grant? Please share it with us!
